Bless our community with your participation; congregants enrich Shabbat morning, about once a month with a worship experience through their own original blessings.
There is one blessing presented per week, typically covering one of these topics:
Nishmat - Follow the general theme on page 334/5 of Siddur Sim Shalom - preparation for prayer and praise of God
Avinu Malkeinu - In place of blessing on page 396/7 of Siddur Sim Shalom, paragraph labeled "Private Meditation" - blessing for family and/or community
Our Country - In place of blessing on page 414/415 of Siddur Sim Shalom - blessing for our country
Israel - In place of prayer on page 416/417 of Siddur Sim Shalom - blessing for the State of Israel (in Hebrew or English)
Peace - In place of prayer on page 416/417 of Siddur Sim Shalom -prayer for peace
Rosh Hodesh - relate the blessing to theme(s) of Rosh Hodesh (refer to page 418/419 of Siddur Sim Shalom)
Torah Portion prayers (B’reshit; Lech L’cha) – Relate the blessing to theme(s) of the torah portion
Holiday prayers - Relate the blessing to theme(s) of the holiday. Blessing will be done during the Torah Service, probably at the point where the Torah is taken out of the ark.
Blessings should be 1-2 minutes in length.
